What is the perfect poop?

Hemorrhoids start out as normal tissue called anal cushions. This inflatable tissue just inside the anal canal fills with blood to form a strong hydrolic seal, keeping what’s inside, well, inside. When you put pressure on your abs, like when you lift something heavy, those cushions instantly inflate to keep you from leaking. That’s why even though you’re squeezing against a hole in your backside, nothing comes out.

Bowel movements affect the anal cushions pretty significantly. If you have to strain to go to the bathroom, that pressure can cause your anal cushions to stretch and develop into hemorrhoids. Hard stools that scrape on the way out can irritate hemorrhoids. On the flip side, so can loose stools. Going to the bathroom frequently causes hemorrhoids to become inflamed. The perfect poop, however, can keep you hemorrhoid free.

So what is the perfect poop? It means having one, soft but formed, quick and complete, bowel movement each day. Eating a plant-based diet that’s rich in fiber, or taking a fiber supplement daily, can help.

If you’re experiencing itching, bleeding and burning with your bowel movements, give me a call and I will rectify it. I’ve treated thousands of people for hemorrhoids, without surgery, and I know I can help you, too. I offer two, non-surgical methods to treat hemorrhoids. One reduces the blood flow that feeds the hemorrhoids, improving inflammation and causing them to shrink. The other is better suited to removing larger hemorrhoids. Both take just a few seconds to do. Since they are performed in an area with no nerve endings they can be administered right in the comfort of my office without anesthesia.

There is virtually no pain, no prep needed, there are no major restrictions, and you don’t have to take time off of work. Our procedures are also covered by insurance.
